JOHN SWEENEY RELEASED FROM SOLITARY CONFINEMENTHundreds of letters have been sent to Judge Keeton, the US Attorney, the Probation Officer and even to the President of the United States by concerned citizens on behalf of John Sweeney and his upcoming sentencing to Federal prison.
SENTENCING DATE: THURSDAY, AUGUST 12, 1999 at 10:00AM in the Federal Courthouse at One Courthouse Way, Boston, MA in Judge Robert E. Keeton's courtroom.
The US Attorney requested a continuance of the sentencing date and Judge Keeton granted the new date above for the government.

This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet:
"Lord, who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?"
For this reason they could not believe, because , as Isaiah says elsewhere:

TRIAL ENDS ABRUPTLY...........Sweeney makes his own closing statement. Quotes Scripture: John 12:38-41 "Thanks be to God".
The Trial was conducted in only three days. 10 witnesses for the Government only 2 witnesses allowed for Sweeney. One day later a 32 page opinion of GUILT was issued by the Judge.
In violation of the Unites States Constitution, John Sweeney is denied the right to a jury trial.

His lawyer said" In my 25 years of practice in this court I have never had a person denied their right to a Jury Trial".
Pre trial hearing is set for Friday 23rd April at 10:00am. Trial date is now set for Monday, April 26th at 9:00 am. Both will take place at 1 Courthouse Way, Boston in front of Judge Keaton.
Federal Judge Keeton suddenly denies ALL of the Sweeney motions WITHOUT ANY HEARING, allows the government to file a proffer as to why John Sweeney should NOT have a jury trial by April 14th and then says he will decide the "jury trial" issue by April 20th.
He sets a new trial date for Monday, April 26th.

John Sweeney Hearing in Federal Court concerning his "Right to a Jury Trial" FRIDAY, April 9th has been CANCELLED. We will post the new date when it is rescheduled.

Some of the Sweeney's personal items have been found discarded near a fence at a construction site at Deer Island Harbor where the Boston Harbor Clean-up Project is working. Old luggage, clothing, two black and white TVs and some cancelled checks were found by ICF Kaiser Engineers Massachusetts, Inc. who notified the police and attorneys.
Judge Keeton schedules a hearing for Friday, April 9, 1999 at 9:00AM to decide whether Sweeney gets a "Trial by Jury" or NOT.
US Attorney Alex Whiting gets transferred from the "Organized Crime Strike Force Division" to the "Public Corruption and Integrity Unit".
